Course participants must be at least 16 years of age.
Learners must possess a sufficient level of English language ability, including speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills.
The course is delivered over one-day.
Training takes place at one of our Highfield approved training centres in East Anglia. The centre’s are equipped with modern classroom facilities and provide suitable space for demonstrating realistic scenarios you may encounter when working with young people.
Alternatively, we can carry out the course at your business premises providing there is adequate space.
Assessments are carried out through a portfolio of evidence produced by the learner during the course.

Once you attend you will be given your course materials. Our experienced trainers will guide you through the units covered.
Upon successfully passing the course, the awarding body will issue your certificate, which you can use to apply for your SIA licence (if applicable).

No previous experience is required. The course is suitable for beginners as well as those who already work with children and young people and want to formalise or refresh their understanding.
This qualification can support your professional development by demonstrating your awareness of safeguarding responsibilities, which is often a requirement for roles in education, childcare, support work, and voluntary positions involving children.
On successful completion of this qualification, learners may wish to continue their development by undertaking one of the following qualifications:
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
• Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
• Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (RQF)
• Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) (RQF)
