Course participants must be at least 18 years of age.
Learners must possess a sufficient level of English language ability, including speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills. An English assessment will be conducted prior to, or during, the course.
Participants must also meet the health and physical fitness requirements necessary to safely complete the practical elements of the course.
All learners must hold a valid Ofqual-regulated First Aid qualification with a minimum of 12 months’ validity remaining or alternatively select the “With First Aid” option at the time of booking and we can provide one.
The course is delivered over four days.
Our blended learning approach combines flexible online self-study with tutor-led classroom training.
Training takes place at one of our Highfield approved training centres in East Anglia. The centre’s are equipped with modern classroom facilities and provide suitable space for demonstrating realistic scenarios you may encounter as a qualified Security Officer.
Alternatively, we can carry out the course at your business premises providing there is adequate space.
Assessments are carried out through a combination of multiple-choice examinations and practical scenario based assessments.

Upon successfully passing the course, the awarding body will issue your certificate, which you can use to apply for your SIA licence (if applicable).

Yes. The Highfield Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry is an SIA licence-linked qualification and is recognised as meeting the training requirements needed to apply for an SIA Security Officer licence.
You will develop practical skills in areas such as conflict management, communication, risk assessment, search procedures, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and members of the public.
Security Officer training is ideal for those working in environments where licensed premises duties are not required, such as offices, warehouses, construction sites, and retail settings. If your role involves licensed venues such as pubs, bars, clubs, or events, Door Supervisor training may be more suitable.
