Highfield Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) (Requalification)

For individuals who need to renew their First Aid at Work qualification and continue working safely and confidently as a workplace first aider.

Course Details

This requalification provides the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to respond effectively to a wide range of workplace emergencies. It also helps you maintain compliance with current first aid standards. The course is suitable for learners who hold a valid certificate or whose qualification has recently expired. It includes mandatory online pre-course learning to refresh essential knowledge before attending the practical session.

The course focuses on refreshing key skills such as CPR and AED use, as well as responding to serious injuries and medical conditions including chest and spinal injuries, anaphylaxis, and the use of auto-injectors, ensuring you remain competent, up to date, and confident in your role as a workplace first aider.

Entry Requirements

Course participants must be at least 14 years of age.

Course participants must hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate.

Learners must possess a sufficient level of English language ability, including speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills.

Participants must also meet the health and physical fitness requirements necessary to safely complete the practical elements of the course.

Delivery and Assessment

The course is delivered over one-day.

Our blended learning approach combines flexible online self-study with tutor-led classroom training.

Training takes place at one of our Highfield approved training centres in East Anglia. The centre is equipped with modern classroom facilities and provides suitable space for demonstrating realistic scenarios you may encounter as a qualified First Aider.

Alternatively, we can carry out the course at your business premises providing there is adequate space.

Assessments are carried out through a combination of multiple-choice examinations and practical scenario based assessments.

This course is designed for individuals who already hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate, or whose qualification has recently expired within the allowed renewal period.

Yes. All learners are required to complete a mandatory online pre-course before attending the practical training session to refresh essential knowledge.

You will refresh key workplace first aid skills including CPR, AED use, and responding to serious injuries and medical emergencies such as spinal injuries and anaphylaxis.

If your certificate has expired beyond the permitted renewal period, you may need to complete the full First Aid at Work qualification again rather than the requalification course.
