Description

MGPC Security & Training Limited proudly offers the Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification, equipping learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to respond confidently to emergencies involving infants and children. Our training supports compliance with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory requirements and promotes a safer environment for children in both professional and home settings.

This qualification is ideal for anyone seeking to develop the skills necessary to deliver effective emergency paediatric first aid, whether within a childcare setting or a domestic environment. It is particularly well suited to parents, relatives, nursery and pre-school staff, toddler group volunteers, childminders, nannies, au pairs and foster parents, as well as individuals whose role involves the care and supervision of young children.

Learners will develop a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider, alongside the confidence to provide immediate and appropriate support across a range of emergency situations. Delivered over approximately seven hours, the course offers focused, practical training designed to build essential hands-on competence.

Key topics include managing an unresponsive but breathing infant or child, responding to choking incidents, treating minor injuries, and recognising and managing hypovolaemic shock. Assessment is conducted through practical demonstration and a multiple-choice theory test, ensuring learners are fully prepared, competent, and able to act quickly and effectively when required.
